Released at Jehovah's Witnesses' summer conventions in 1999, the book Pay Attention to Daniel's Prophecy! is the organization's first book-length commentary on Daniel. Prior to that, Daniel's prophecies had been discussed in various Watchtower articles over the years, and at length in these books: Light, Book Two, 1930, by Joseph Rutherford, covering portions of Daniel chapter 2, as well as similar prophetic references in Revelation. "Your Will Be Done on Earth", 1958, authored anonymously -- a policy applied to all Watchtower books published after Rutherford's death -- discussing Daniel chapters 7, 8, 11 and 12. "Babylon the Great Has Fallen!" God's Kingdom Rules!, 1963, authored anonymously, including discussion of Daniel chapter 5 along with its coverage of portions of Isaiah, Jeremiah, and Revelation. Our Incoming World Government--God's Kingdom, 1977, authored anonymously, covering considerable portions of Daniel chapters 2, 4, 7 and 12. Throughout this period the Watchtower Society's interpretations of Daniel's prophecies have undergone some modification, but have essentially retained the basics of Judge Rutherford's renderings.
