Did angels give Judge Rutherford the revolutionary new gospel he proclaimed concerning Christ's invisible return in 1914 and the establishment of the heavenly Kingdom at that time, along with the gathering of an earthly Great Crowd not part of the anointed Body of Christ?

Even if he had produced evidence of the angelic direction he claimed for himself, Rutherford would have been on shaky ground, biblically speaking, because the Apostle Paul had warned:
But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach a gospel other than the one we preached to you, let him be eternally condemned.--Galatians 1:8
Yet, going beyond such claimed angelic revelations, the earlier years of Rutherford's presidency give evidence that he apparently believed himself to be in contact with or under the influence of the late Pastor Russell's departed spirit:
"...though Pastor Russell has passed beyond the veil, he is still managing every feature of the Harvest work."--The Finished Mystery, 1917, page 144
