Judge Rutherford concluded that the 1260 days of Revelation 11:3 marked significant events in his life:
"...1260 days...beginning... November 7, 1914, would end on the 7th day of May, 1918...all the officers of the Watch Tower Bible and Tract Society...were arrested" -- Light Vol. I, page 199
Likewise, he decided that the 1260 days of Revelation 12:6 are a different time period foretold to indicate the span between his release from prison and a speech he delivered at a Cedar Point, Ohio, convention:
"...1260 days in the wilderness began March 27, 1919, and the end of that period came September 8, 1922...On March 26, 1919, the imprisoned officers of the Society were released" --Light Vol. I, page 249
"...without any thought of the fulfilment of the prophetic dates, September 8 was designated on the program as `The Day`...That date was exactly the end of the 1260-day period in the wilderness experience" -- Light Vol. I, page 251
